Today's tip come to us from Craig Schumann.
Here is a quick tip to get more out of promotion paths in Build Manager. Create three! I have found that for each template I work on I always end up creating three paths....

The first one - the one most of you already have is the one that includes a Make version step and sends the template to QA. In addition to that one I also have one that is a copy of the first, but without the Make Version step. This is so that I can do quick, iterative builds to QA that don’t fill up my CIAO! Log with versions I don’t need. Then, the third one, is a copy of the non make version path that promotes the template to my local machine and refreshes my local test database. I use this one the most and it allows me to make changes to the template on the server, but use a local test database. I even created a Smart icon in that can run a promotion path right from designer making the whole thing almost effortless…well, as close to effortless that's possible with Notes…;)
