If you work on large database designs then this tip is for you

We are all familiar with running Teamstudio tools from the action bar. the problem is if you are working on a large design with many elements some of our tools can take a while. But if you could run them Outside the Notes client you would still be able to access your workspace and other applications when the tools are running.

Well you can and have been able to for a while.

When you install one of our client tools (CIAO, Configurator, Delta, Profiler, Snapper, Validator) we install an executable file in the Notes program directory for each tool.

I create a shortcut to each of these on my windows quick launch bar   A picture named M3

By clicking on one of these you are presented with the traditional Open Database dialog.
This is due to the fact that you do not have a selected db to work off of so we need to pass the tools a path of a db to work with.

You are then presented our usual tool window and can work with it as you always have, without impacting your notes client

You can even run these without the notes client running at all. (It MUST be installed though)

Gravatar Image1 - Very cool stuff.

Wished it was apart of the help documentation.
Would have saved a lot of idle time.

I ended up creating a second domino instance to do long winded analysis just so I can complete other tasks in my real Notes environment.Emoticon

Gravatar Image2 - Doesn't seem to work for Profiler now.
